Overview

Borneo Cement Sabah (BCS) is a key player in Sabah’s Cement Industry, established through a joint venture between the Sabah Economic Development Corporation (SEDCO) and Sri Alam Setia Sdn Bhd. This collaboration aims to construct an integrated clinker and cement plant in Tongod, Sabah, with Sinoma Engineering, a renowned China-based firm, as the EPC contractor. The project is strategically designed to meet the region’s growing demand for cement by ensuring a reliable, sufficient, and high-quality local supply.

BCS distinguishes itself through unique capabilities that enhance operational efficiency. The plant’s direct access to essential raw materials eliminates reliance on clinker imports, safeguarding against currency fluctuations, shipment delays, and supply uncertainties. Strategically situated in Central Sabah, the facility is ideally positioned to serve both the West and East Coasts of Sabah, as well as Labuan, through a partnership with Cement Industries Sabah, a SEDCO subsidiary. This development not only addresses the growing cement demand but also fosters significant social and economic progress in Tongod, one of Sabah’s most underdeveloped districts.
